Goodyear sponsors St. John Ambulance with new Tyres

Goodyear Malaysia has donated RM30,000 worth of Goodyear tyres to St. John Ambulance Malaysia in an effort to improve the safety of the ambulances and its passengers. The sponsorship includes the Goodyear Cargo Marathon 2 and Assurance Duraplus 2 tyres. Present at the sponsorship handover was Alex Ng, Managing Director of Goodyear Malaysia and Dato’ Yeo Kim Thong, Chief Operating Officer of St. John Ambulance Malaysia.

“At Goodyear, we want to support the local humanitarian efforts in helping Malaysians in need. We started the sponsorship to St. John Ambulance since 2006 and it has been a continuous effort ever since. By sponsoring St. John Ambulance, we want to draw importance to maintaining tyre condition, especially for vehicles such as ambulances, to ensure safe travels from one destination to another,” said Alex Ng, Managing Director of Goodyear Malaysia.

The ambulances from St. John Ambulance Malaysia provide 24-hour services to all response emergency calls, including transporting COVID-19 patients. At the peak of the pandemic, St. John Ambulance Malaysia transported over 400 COVID-19 patients to the Klang Hospital.

Goodyear Malaysia actively organises humanitarian initiatives to help the communities in need. Over the years, Goodyear has continuously supported St. John Ambulance since 2006 and Pertubuhan Amal Uncle Kentang Malaysia since 2021 with tyre sponsorship of approximately 1,000 tyres in total, which catered to more than 50 ambulances.
